The Pavilion Suites at The Berkeley have made their debut. The suites, designed by interior architect André Fu and his studio AFSO, follow a major redesign of the front entrance, a new look to the Blue Bar and Collins Room, and the addition of a ballroom and a variety of new suites. The highlight of the accommodations are the glass pavilions, surrounded by terraces overlooking Belgravia and Knightsbridge, providing sweeping city views.
The suites—the Crescent Pavilion and Grand Pavilion—are designed to feel like a residential home for long-stay guests. With their launch, The Berkeley now ahs four signature suites, including The Apartment, which opened in 2017 by John Heah, and the Opus Suite, launched in 2012 and also designed by Andre Fu. Guests of these four suites receive access to the hotel’s exclusive Signature Service, which provides guests with a private liaison throughout their stay to organize their every request. Additionally, the Signature Services include a unique culinary experience from two Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing, access to a Blue Bar mixologist to create cocktails in the privacy of the suite and the use of a tailored Burberry Trench Coat for use throughout the stay.
Both the Crescent Pavilion and Grand Pavilion have similar features, such as 270-degree views of the city through sliding glass walls, which give guests access to their furnished and gardened terraces. Dining spaces in the suites have seating for eight.
The Crescent Pavilion Suite
Design touches in the Crescent Pavilion include a wood-paneled hallway lined with delicate gold patina fabric and lithograph prints by, a bespoke hexagonal rock glass chandelier, an island bar decked in quartzite aqua marble, and stained oak partitions. In the master bedroom and second en-suite bedroom, guests will find a palette of pale green, mineral grey and champagne gold, matching the colors of the outdoor garden.
The Grand Pavilion Suite, however, has an entrance hallway decked with gloss-lacquered grey English paneling, upholstered with emerald green silk. A palette of burgundy, pale emerald and mineral grey are used for the furniture in the living space, which also has a decorative glass screen hand-gilded with champagne gold teardrops. Good to know: There is also an open cocktail bar.
Set at the other end of the glass pavilion is the master bedroom with three-sided full-height glazing and its own private terrace. A freestanding cast stone bathtub and antique brass bathroom fixtures by Kallista are found in the en-suite.
