The Biltmore Mayfair opens its doors today as Europe’s first LXR Hotels & Resorts property—Hilton’s collection of luxury hotels. The 307-room hotel is located across from the gardens of Grosvenor Square and will showcase culinary concepts by Michelin-star restaurateur Jason Atherton.
Instead of a traditional minibar, guests who book one of the hotel’s eight signature suites will have access to a quilted, leather-encased cabinet holding full-size bottles of champagne. Even kids will be pampered with their own bathrobes, coloured toothbrushes and access to a complimentary non-alcoholic minibar throughout their stay. Bath amenities will be provided by Penhaligon’s. Bonus: For special occasions, the hotel can create embroidered pillowcases and monogrammed bathrobes.
Dining concepts by Jason Atherton include:
- The Betterment, which has a seasonally driven menu, from locally sourced fish and meats that are wood-fired to signature salads and plant-based dishes
- The Pine Bar serves classic cocktails, wines and bar snacks, including home-cured charcuterie
- The Tea Lounge, located within the hotel lobby, has London’s finest teas and a selection of homemade sandwiches, as well as sweets that include a Dorset spice apple cake and lemon and lavender macarons in the Writer’s Corner
- The Terrace, open all year round, is a relaxed, al fresco area surrounded by floral arrangements, greenery and fairy lights
Atherton will additionally oversee food and beverage for the hotel’s event spaces, including the 5,300-square-foot ballroom (with a capacity up to 700 guests). For more intimate functions, the Waterloo and Manhattan Suites can hold up to 80 and 100 guests, respectively, while the Kendal Suite can accommodate 40. The hotel also has a state-of-the-art fitness suite.
The Biltmore Mayfair provides easy access to a host of iconic landmarks and neighbourhoods, including the home of bespoke tailoring, Savile Row, and exclusive retailers on Bond Street. It joins Habtoor Palace Dubai, LXR Hotels & Resorts, as the second property within Hilton’s collection of luxury hotels. The brand made its debut with the opening of Habtoor Palace in August 2018.
