Boutique Hotel Casona Roma Norte to Open in Mexico City

Mexico’s hospitality collection Hamak Hotels has announced that the latest addition to its portfolio, Casona Roma Norte, is set to open in Mexico City on October 1, 2024.

Originally built in 1923, the property was acquired by Rodolfo Roth in the 1990s, and recently underwent renovation by Colonnier Arquitectos, complemented by interior design from Simple Arquitectura. The restored Belle Époque mansion features intricate details and Art Nouveau-influenced nature-inspired designs. It offers 32 rooms with marble clad bathrooms. Guests can enjoy organic in-room amenities handcrafted by local Mexican artisans.

Casona Roma Norte features six F&B venues: Suchi Nipona & Sinaloa Cuisine fuses Japanese and Sinaloan flavors paired with locally produced sake; Akamba offers a selection of national distillates, including mezcals, tequilas, raicillas, bacanoras and xtabentún, with insights from a Mexican Spirits Master Concierge, who can craft cocktails tailored to guests’ palates; Aquiles serves seasonal comfort cuisine crafted from local produce; Matcha Saloon by La Macaria merges the ambiance of a Japanese tea room with the expertise of the Mexican bakery La Macaria; The Mirror Speakeasy blends global and Mexican influences in an Art Deco setting; and Holden Rooftop offers flame-grilled fare.
