The Breakers Palm Beach Is Remodeling Its Sports Facilities

The Breakers Palm Beach will unveil renovated tennis and racket facilities in late 2024, following a $12 million renovation, currently underway.

The project will result in a 104,000-square-foot sporting enclave with 16 open-air courts. There will be 12 tennis courts offering three surfaces: grass, clay and hardtop. There will also be two courts each for pickleball and padel, each equipped with a cabana and comfort station. Serving as retreats for players between games, after set and post-match, the open-air cabanas with comfort stations will include seating, chilled towels, fans, filtered water station, and complimentary beverages and snacks

The Breakers tapped longstanding partner Tihany Design for the project. Additional amenities and facilities include:

  • Shaded, open-air structures above four tennis and two pickleball courts, for sun/climate cover and protection
  • Stretching deck equipped with accessories for warming up and cooling down
  • LED lights for evening play
  • The Veranda, a retreat where players and spectators relax, socialize and watch from above, with lounge seating areas

Inspired by the Villa Medici in Rome, The Breakers Palm Beach is an eight-story resort with 534 guestrooms and suites, including the Flagler Club, a boutique, private-access hotel located atop the resort. Besides 10 restaurants, The Breakers has a beach club with four pools, six whirlpool spas, 25 poolside bungalows and a variety of water sports. Additional offerings include two 18-hole golf courses, 10 Har-Tru tennis courts, an indoor-outdoor spa, a 6,000-square-foot fitness center, 13 signature boutiques, a Family Entertainment Center with activities for children, and Via Flagler by The Breakers, an off-site al fresco plaza of boutiques, eateries and galleries.
