Have you heard the news out of Paris? Non, we’re not talking about the thrilling couture shows at Paris Fashion Week, which recently wrapped. We’re talking about the announcement by Bulgari Hotels and Resorts that they’re moving into the City of Light. To quote the official website: “Paris is always a good idea, but, beginning in 2020, it will be an even better one: The Bulgari Hotel Paris will open its doors in the prestigious address of 30 Avenue George V.” This location in the heart of the Golden Triangle is a coveted one; you’ve got high-end shopping galore not to mention two luxury hotels—Four Seasons George V and the Hotel Prince de Galles—within a cobblestone’s throw on the avenue.
Slated to open in 2020, the Bulgari Hotel Paris will have 76 rooms—most of them suites. The design by Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, alongside Parisian team Valode & Pistre, is said to “combine a classic Parisian Haussmann-style with a contemporary rationalistic façade.” Attractions will include a spa, 25-meter pool, courtyard garden, restaurant and bar.
As quoted by WWD, CEO Jean Christophe Babin said, “We are particularly proud to have secured such an extraordinary location… this new addition will represent an irresistible Roman jeweler hospitality experience in the Parisian upscale hotel market.”
Next up for Bulgari Hotels and Resorts is a Shanghai hotel set to open this year. A joint venture between the Italian brand and Marriott International, Bulgari Hotels first opened in Milan in 2004, and now the portfolio comprises properties in Bali, London, Beijing, and Dubai. A Moscow hotel is also in the pipeline.
