Fans of the luxury brand Bulgari Hotels & Resorts can look forward to two openings this year—the Bulgari Hotel Roma and Bulgari Hotel Tokyo. The former will be located in the heart of the Campo Marzio neighborhood, minutes from the Spanish Steps, Via del Corso and the Bulgari flagship on Via Condotti; the latter—signed an agreement with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd—will occupy the top seven floors (39-45) of an "ultra-skyscraper" planned for construction in the Yaesu 2-Chome North District Category-I Urban Redevelopment Project.
The new Bulgari Hotel Roma will occupy a magnificent modernist building from the 1930s that faces two of Rome’s most iconic landmarks: The Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus, the first Roman Imperator. Bulgari Hotel Tokyo will be located in a central area, within walking distance to some of the best attractions in town, such as the Imperial Palace and the shopping areas of Nihombashi and Ginza.
Here’s what to expect:
Rome, Italy
The new Roman hotel will be strategically located in the central Piazza Augusto Imperatore. Bulgari Hotel Roma will occupy a building built between 1936 and 1938; Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel will oversee both the architectural project and the interior redesign of the hotel. When complete, there will be over 100 rooms—most of them suites—as well as the brand’s Il Ristorante, curated by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito, and Il Bar, both located on the top floor to offer views of the “Eternal City.”
The luxury hotel will also house a range of additional facilities, including a high-end spa with an indoor swimming pool and gym. A unique feature, the Bulgari Hotel Roma will also present a Reading Room, containing a collection of volumes dedicated to the history of jewelry. Note: This will be open to guests and the public by appointment only.
Tokyo, Japan
Beyond offering quick access to the above locations, Bulgari Hotel Tokyo will also offer close proximity to Tokyo Station and the financial districts of Nihombashi and Marunouchi. The hotel will offer 98 guestrooms in a variety of configurations—mainly twin and double rooms—as well as luxury suites and one Bulgari Suite.
Bulgari Hotels staples, such as Il Bar, Il Ristorante, the fireplace Lounge—all of with an outdoor terrace—will be available for the hotel guests. There will also be an Il Cioccolato store and a ballroom with a large outdoor space. The about 16,000-square-foot Bulgari Spa will offer immersing and innovative treatments, therapies and grooming for both men and women. Facilities will include a fitness center and 82-foot indoor pool.
As with all the Bulgari Hotels and Resorts, Bulgari Hotel in Tokyo will be designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. In addition to the Bulgari hotel, the tower will also be a high-grade mixed-use space with offices and retail.
