The Bürgenstock Selection has announced the appointment of Joannie Cargill as its new director of sales, North America. In this new role, Cargill will spread awareness in North America of The Bürgenstock Selection’s properties: The Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne, the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne and the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa.
With over 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Cargill was most recently the regional director of sales for World Hotels in New York, a role she held for seven years, focusing on the Northeast and Canadian markets, where she built and maintained relationships with many key luxury travel industry partners. Prior to her role at World Hotels, she oversaw global aales efforts at Leading Hotels of the World for three international brands. Previous roles include corporate sales manager at the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson and, prior to that, catering sales at the Westminster Hotel in New Jersey. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, she is also a founding member of the university’s Hospitality & Tourism Alumni Chapter.
The Bürgenstock Selection encompasses six hotels, 16 restaurants, four spas, 67 residence suites and a Health & Medical Center. The largest of the three, the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne comprises four hotels ranging from three to five-star-superior with a total of 383 rooms and suites, 10 restaurants and bars, 67 Residence Suites and the expansive Alpine Spa. Following their complete renovation, the properties now sport a contemporary design.
