Canadian Boutique: The Josie Hotel to Open November 28

North America’s newest ski-in, ski-out hotel is in Rossland, British Columbia. The Josie Hotel, part of Noble House Hotels & Resorts, opens November 28 as the region’s first boutique hotel. Set at the base of Red Mountain Resort’s slopes, management aims to provide an “authentic” mountain experience with the hotel, which is named after the town’s Josie Mine.

The intimate-sized hotel has 106 rooms and suites with views of Red Mountain and the surrounding Rossland range.

Chef Marc-André Coquette will helm The Josie’s full-service dining venue, The Velvet Restaurant and Lounge. We hear the culinary team is working with a community of local suppliers, farmers, producers and vineyards to create a menu with a subtle French influence and a diverse range of dishes (including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options).

The Josie Hotel's lobby. The hotel will have 106 rooms and suites.

The Josie’s surroundings are a mecca for adventure, with Red Mountain boasting nearly 2,877 acres of terrain. The hotel’s location offers guests quick access to cat skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, cross-country skiing, curling, ice skating and hockey. Bonus: The Josie will have a ski concierge, providing in-depth, local knowledge to guide guests. In summer, guests can enjoy Rossland’s hiking, fly fishing and lake fishing, horseback riding and mountain biking on more than 100-plus miles of trails.

Nice Touch: The hotel has a small spa with a menu of wellness treatments; the fitness facility has cardio and strength-training equipment. A mountainside pool will join the luxury amenities in 2019.
