The Capella Hotel Group—which aims to elevate the luxury hotel stay with highly personalized guest services—is continuing its expansion with a foray into Thailand. Currently the ultra-luxury brand operates some hotels across Asia (and one in Dusseldorf), including the new Bill Bensley-designed tented retreat in Ubud, Bali. There are a few buzzworthy properties in the pipeline (like Sydney, the Maldives), and Bangkok will be the first to make a splash when it debuts in early 2019.
Perched on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the ultra-luxury Capella Bangkok will embrace riverfront life with panoramic views from all 101 rooms, suites and villas. Some accommodations will come equipped with sky gardens and outdoor living space. And Capella Personal Assistants—another brand signature—will attend to guests.
One of the most exciting features of the Capella Bangkok is cuisine by Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco, whose Mirazur restaurant in the south of France—overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in Menton near the border with Italy—racks up the awards. Not only does he hold two Michelin stars, but Mirazur also has a high ranking on the “World’s 50 Best” list. The Capella Bangkok will have two gourmet restaurants plus a riverfront terrace for al fresco dining with water views. What’s more, the hotel will offer a bar specializing in desserts and creative craft cocktails.
Additional amenities include a outdoor pool nestled in tropical gardens, the Capella Library, a Grand Ballroom for events, and the brand’s signature Auriga wellness spa, encompassing 9,000 square feet.
