Antigua's Carlisle Bay is about to make your multigenerational bookings a lot easier.
The luxe Leading Hotels of the World member is slated to debut the second phase of its multimillion-dollar renovation in October with four reimagined three-bedroom Carlisle Suites and 20 two-bedroom Signature Beach Suites, the latter now sporting a second bathroom (the most luxurious of amenities for families traveling together).
The latest revamp phase is co-led by London-based designer Miminat Shodeinde of Miminat Designs, who handled last October's overhaul of the resort's Ocean, Bay, and Garden Suites, alongside Cara Doherty, part of Carlisle Bay's ownership group. The two are pitching the new inventory as a more residential take on Caribbean luxury, with suites meant to read as island homes rather than hotel rooms.
The Signature Beach Terrace Suites and Signature Beach Balcony Suites are vibe inspired by Antigua's sand, sea, and sky, with natural fabrics and a light palette built for a relaxed coastal feel.
The Carlisle Suites will each be renamed for a part of the island: Rendezvous Bay, Signal Hill, Fig Tree Drive, and Great Bird Island. Each will nod to its namesake through color palettes, textures, artwork, and handcrafted details, layered over detailed timber, four-poster beds, expanded lounge areas, and elevated finishes. The resort commissioned local artist and gallery owner Sallie Harker of Fig Tree Studio Gallery to create original woodcut artworks for each suite, inspired by traditional rainforest dancers and the landscape of the suite's namesake.
Across both phases, the interior design leans on natural palettes, travertine flooring, and limewash walls, with timber tones referencing the island's vegetation.
"World-class luxury is defined by quality, attention to detail and a genuine sense of place. This next renovation phase of Carlisle Bay reinforces that commitment by elevating every aspect of the guest experience while remaining deeply connected to the spirit of the Caribbean," Doherty said. "For us, true luxury isn't about excess - it's about comfort, craftsmanship and creating spaces that guests remember because they feel exceptional in a subtle, enduring way."
The full renovation, covering all guest suites, the Entrance Pavilion and Bar, and Indigo on the Beach, is slated for completion by November 2027.
