Casetta Firenze, an agriturismo located on 90 acres in the Chianti region in Tuscany, is offering a curated contemporary art tour for guests who book the five-bedroom farmhouse beginning next year. The art tour will take guests to some of Italy’s best spots that showcase contemporary art including Castello di Ama near Siena, Galleria Continua in San Gimignano and Fattoria di Celle in Pistoia.
Xenia Lemos, owner of the 270-year-old luxury farmhouse, has a strong personal interest in art. She added this experience to her “Enrichment Series,” which includes immersive activities for her guests to partake in and capture the best of Italy.
The experience begins at Castello di Ama, an 18th-century winery, in the province of Siena where guests will have a guided tour of specially commissioned sculptures on display throughout the property. Each piece is commissioned by the owners and created site-specific by prominent artists who come to live and create art on site. In addition to a collection of sculptures, Castello di Ama is also known for its wines. After touring the sculpture garden, a wine tasting followed by lunch will await guests at Il Ristoro.
The second day brings guests first to Ristoro L’Antica Scuderia in Badia a Passignano for lunch overlooking the Chianti vineyards against the backdrop of a ninth-century abbey. The next stop is the Tuscan town of San Gimignano, the home of Galleria Continua. Guests will enjoy rolling exhibits of works created by artists including Antony Gormley, Michaelangelo Pistoia and Daniel Bruner. Galleria Continua’s success has resulted in expansion to major cities including Beijing, Dubai and Paris, among others. Coincidentally, the gallery has served as advisors to major collectors including Castello di Ama.
On the last day, guests can take in the beautiful surroundings and view the “Gori Collection” at Fattoria di Celle. Art collectors Giuliano and Pina Gori allow guests (by reservation only) to enjoy guided tours in the sculpture gardens of their villa. Gori has invited artists to create large-scale pieces on specific sites, artists including Daniel Buren, Loris Cecchini, Anslem Kiefer and many others.
The rate includes four nights at Casetta including daily maid service, daily breakfast, four dinners excluding drinks, private transportation, entry to the art tours, wine tasting and lunch at Castello di Ama. Lunch at Ristoro L’Antica Scuderia in Badia Passignano before San Gimignano and lunch after Fattoria di Celle is not included.
