The Chatwal, New York, located just off Times Square in Manhattan, is welcoming guests again. The hotel has 76 accommodations with 29 suites, 14 of which have private landscaped terraces as part of the Chatwal Crown Suites.
Embodying the hotel’s theater-centric location, the specialty suites under the Chatwal Crowns include the Chatwal Suite, which highlights the most memorable shows on Broadway and includes the largest of the hotel’s signature terraces at 500 square feet. Tucked behind the building’s historic landmark façade is the Garden Suite, named for its generous southern exposure terrace that includes sculptures, fountains and heat lamps. Guests staying in the Library Suite can enjoy a carefully curated collection of literary tomes and masterpieces housed in its private library. The suite offers views of the Manhattan skyline.
All accommodations sport a color palette of deep reds, purples and tans. The rooms draw inspiration from early 20th-century travel, each offering built-in cabinets wrapped in faux leather and resembling pieces of classic luggage. The bathrooms have sparkling tile floors.
Deal: To celebrate its reopening, The Chatwal, New York has rolled out a special offer for guests. Each reservation made until March 31, 2022 will receive a $100 credit toward the purchase of Broadway, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden or any other performance tickets, or as a hotel credit.
Originally built in 1905 by Stanford White, the landmark hotel was restored and renewed by master architect Thierry Despont and relaunched in 2010. April 2022 will see the debut The Chatwal Lodge, The Catskills, NY, which will be followed by 2023 openings in San Miguel de Allende and Valle de Guadalupe in Mexico.
