Overlooking the Seine, in the heart of the French capital, Cheval Blanc Paris will be opening its doors on September 7, 2021. The contemporary boutique hotel will have 72 accommodations— 26 rooms and 46 suites—to go along with four restaurants. It marks the fifth hotel in LVMH’s ultra-luxe Cheval Blanc portfolio, following Courchevel, the Maldives, St. Barth’s and St. Tropez.
The former La Samaritaine department store, an Art Deco landmark on the Seine, has been remodeled by architect Edouard François, while the listed building’s décor was reimagined by architect Peter Marino in the style of a Parisian residence. Despite the low room count, there will be 11 room categories. Guests of all rooms can expect such features as marble bathrooms, home to a separate tub and dressing area, a reading nook alongside bay windows, and Parisian Chic Poudré and Parisian Chic Boisé-scented amenities (Cheval Blanc Paris’ signature fragrances created by François Demachy, Maison Dior’s perfumer).
Good to know: Select suites offer views of such Paris landmarks as the Louvre, Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower. Other rooms offer balconies or terraces, multiple bedrooms, private projection rooms and more. The Quintessence Suite—the top digs—has a reception room and dining space, as well as a swimming pool, hammam, sauna, treatment room and fitness suite.
Tip: All rooms receive have their own an attentive majordome service on hand 24/7 for any needs.
Arnaud Donckele will lead the gastronomic restaurant as chef and Maxime Frédéric will serve as the hotel’s pastry chef. Eateries include Le Tout-Paris, a “new spirit of brasserie” fused with a cocktail bar, an Italian restaurant, and Limbar, for “daily delights [and] nightly elixers.” A private room at La Tout-Paris is also available.
The Dior Spa Cheval Blanc Paris will have six treatment rooms (including on couple’s suite), each with a white onyx bathroom, as well as a gently rippling swimming pool and exercise facilities. Beyond typical body treatments, signature services include Sapphire Crystal Micro-Abrasion, the exclusive technology of Dior skincare, and Happiness Shots, concentrated treatments of either 30 or 45 minutes that can be combined as desired with any other treatment.
Kid-friendly services include Le Carrousel, a kid’s area with a “sailor” theme (think treasure hunts, puzzles and more). The Little Bees’ Room is for the youngest guests, with a focus on “a fun approach to imparting the importance of pollinators.” Designed for guests ages eight to 12, an underwater-themed area includes a full-height fish tank, holographic projections of mysterious species and an interactive seabed floor.
Reservations open Monday, June 21.
