Corinthia Group is heading to the Caribbean. The Malta-based hospitality company said this month it will build an ultra-luxury hotel and branded residential project on Grace Bay in Turks & Caicos, its first development in North America.
The site is the last undeveloped beachfront parcel along that stretch of Grace Bay, land the Cummings family has held for more than 25 years. Corinthia is partnering with the family’s Carolina Partners Ltd. on the project, which is being led by Corinthia Real Estate Ventures, the group’s investment and development arm run by managing partners Marcus Pisani and Alex Chazkel. Corinthia Hotels will manage the finished resort.
Plans call for a 50-suite Corinthia-branded hotel alongside fully serviced residences spanning beachfront villas, casitas, and condominiums. Amenities include a spa and wellness center, multiple pools, a beach club, signature restaurants, retail, and padel courts. The design takes its cues from the shallow waters of the Caicos Banks, with an emphasis on natural ventilation and indoor-outdoor living rather than showy architecture.
“The Cummings family has held an extraordinary piece of Grace Bay for more than 25 years and we are delighted to be partnering with them to realise its potential," said Corinthia Group CEO Simon Naudi in prepared remarks. "This project is another important step in Corinthia’s international growth, bringing together exceptional real estate, aligned capital partners, and our development and hotel management expertise."
“We are excited to be working with the Cummings family and to be launching this as the first in a series of high-profile projects that C-REV is bringing forward in North America,” Chazkel said, adding that the company’s hotel-and-residence portfolio has expanded recently with opened or announced projects in Malta, Rome, Lake Como, Tuscany, the Maldives, and the Middle East.
The project is working through formal planning approval, with construction expected to begin in 2027. No opening date has been announced.
