Looking for a hotel to take the family this summer? Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay in Malta will be offering two services to please parents: A complimentary kids’ club and complimentary trial dives.
Families staying at the hotel in July and August can book their children—aged three to 12—into the Kids Club, a first for the hotel. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., it is free of charge and must be booked in advance. Qualified staff will look after a maximum of 15 children during the morning sessions and keep them out of the sun, occupying them with a range of activities.
Malta is known for diving and from mid-June, guests at the hotel aged from eight upwards can take advantage of weekly trial dives with a qualified diving instructor. Dives take place every Thursday at 9 a.m. in a sister hotel adjacent to St. George’s Bay; guests must book 12 hours in advance and be relatively fit to participate. Each weekly session will instruct a maximum of 20 people.
In addition, the hotel has a five-pool complex (with a quiet children’s-only pool), a private rocky beach, direct access to the Mediterranean, ten restaurants, poolside dining, the Apollo Day Spa, a water sports center and a fitness center.
Three categories of guest bedrooms—all with private balcony and two double beds—are geared to families: Deluxe Sea View Family, Superior Family and Executive Sea View Family. The hotel is a short walk away from the restaurants (and bars, for parents) of Paceville.
Malta offers plenty of activities that are well-suited for families, such as scuba diving, sailing and yachting, Segway tours, rock climbing and horseback riding. This year, Valletta was named a European Capital of Culture 2018. The festivities include over 400 events and encompass a year-long celebration of the culture and history of the island nation of Malta.
