Corinthia Hotels has announced its newest property Corinthia Rome, with Chef Carlo Cracco as the property’s food and beverage partner. Corinthia Rome is slated to open in spring 2024.
Corinthia Rome will occupy a seven-story building that was originally built in 1914 to house the Bank of Italy. The palazzo will maintain its original façade overlooking the Parliament of Italy. The property is being restored to offer 60 guestrooms and 21 themed luxury suites, a lobby lounge, bar, restaurant, as well as a spa, gym, an open-air central courtyard, and a rooftop affording city views. Chef Cracco will conceive and develop the food and beverage offering of the luxury hotel’s restaurant.
“I am honored to partner with Corinthia Hotels and contribute to the development of such an ambitious project,” said Cracco, who runs the iconic outpost in Milan’s Galleria Vittoria Emanuele, comprising a restaurant, a café, a wine cellar and a space for private events, along with the Cracco Portofino restaurant in the Italian luxury seaside resort. “It will be so exciting to find new ways to seduce international and local guests with a food proposal that will combine my signature approach with influences coming from Rome, the Eternal City, an incomparable source of beauty and inspiration.”
Born in Vicenza in 1965, Carlo Cracco is an internationally acclaimed chef. Cracco cut his teeth with some of the most renowned chefs in the world, including Gualtiero Marchesi in Milan, as well as Alain Ducasse and Lucas Carton in Paris. After holding the role of chef at high-end restaurants, including Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence and l’Albereta in the Piedmont region, in 2001 he co-founded the Cracco-Peck Restaurant with the Stoppani family, before fully acquiring it in 2007. Besides other notable achievements, in 2021, the chef launched Cracco Portofino, a restaurant facing the Gulf of Portofino in Italy. Cracco is the president of the Maestro Martino Association, a non-profit association that aims to promote the signature cuisine of the region.
