In Varaždīn, Croatia, known for its baroque architecture and music, food, medieval buildings and museums, the Park Boutique Hotel opened at the end of 2015. Nice Touch: It’s surrounded by the Vatroslav Jagić Park and sits next to the city’s National Theatre. The hotel has 15 guestrooms and four Gallery Suites, which are suitable for families. (The hotel also has additional connecting rooms.) What we love: The hotel’s restaurant has a garden terrace overlooking the park. Are you a foodie? The hotel staff will create a gastronomic tour of Northwest Croatia’s restaurants, wineries and family-owned farms. The manager is Martina Višnjić (manager@park-boutique-hotel.eu). Museums in town include the Old Town Museum, housing the city’s cultural and historic items; The Herzer Palace, which has over 4,500 exhibits on the biology of bugs; and The Sermage Palace, a gallery of art from the 15th-20th centuries.
