David Citadel Hotel, located in Jerusalem, overlooking the Tower of David and the historic Old City walls, has appointed Eyal Goldberger as its general manager.
Hailing from Florida, Goldberger brings with him 20 years of experience managing high-end hotel operations across all departments for both corporate and boutique properties. Goldberger joins David Citadel Hotel following years working with the international Hyatt chain, where he served as regional general manager overseeing three major properties in Miami and south Florida. Prior to this role, Goldberger was the general manager of Hyatt Centric Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale where he spearheaded the opening of the property.
“We wanted to give our children the experience of Israeli culture, the benefit of learning Hebrew, and the opportunity to fall in love with the Israeli sense of community, national pride and belonging,” said Goldberger. “My goal is to enhance the sense of community and family among guests and employees alike.”
In the earliest stages of his career, Goldberger graduated in Hospitality Management from FIU (Florida International University) and started out as a front desk manager with the Marriott chain at Stanton South Beach. He then moved into food and beverage, where he developed an enthusiasm for creative activation, concepts and marketing. He also gained extensive knowledge and experience across hotel departments including director of operations within Marriott and Starwood Hotels.
“The appointment of Eyal Goldberger will bring a fresh approach and creative perspective to usher in a new era of the guest experience offered by David Citadel Hotel,” said Katerina Brokes, VP of sales for David Citadel Hotel and Mamilla Hotel. “Together with our expertly trained staff, innovative culinary venues, plush rooms, and all of the bells and whistles of a five-star hotel, Eyal will achieve a great deal of success at the helm of the property now and in the many years to come.”
