Come spring 2019, The Dupont Circle Hotel will emerge from a multimillion-dollar renovation, set to become a new social hub in Washington, D.C. The Doyle Collection—the Irish family-owned collection of eight urban hotels in Ireland, the U.K. and the U.S.—recruited Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and Clodagh Design to oversee the makeover of the lobby, bar, restaurant and rooftop suites. Accessed by private elevator, the Rooftop Floor will house a total of 14 suites—many with furnished outdoor terraces.
The Dupont Suite will give other luxury hotels in the nation’s capital a run for their money; this penthouse, sprawling across 5,000 square feet, has a large garden terrace complete with a fire pit and a movie projector, so you can sink into a lounger and catch a flick while contemplating views of Dupont Circle and the Washington Monument. Designed by Clodagh in a mid-century modern style, the Dupont Suite will comprise two master bedrooms, a living room, dining area and wet bar. Oh, and that landscaped terrace? It’ll be heated year-round… so a top spot for ringing in the new year, complete with fireworks.
The Dupont Circle Hotel aims to draw a buzzing local crowd of Washingtonians with new restaurant and bar concepts. The Bar Dupont will be transformed into Doyle; Martin Brudnizki Design Studio mixed mid-century design with a high-octane dose of glamor. The new restaurant will have an outdoor terrace for al fresco dining. Last but not least: A new coffee and chocolate bar called Doyle & Co will offer takeaway drinks and light bites.
The Dupont Circle Hotel is overseen by General Manager Joel Freyberg.
