Design Hotels is adding eight new members to its repertoire of hotels. The new properties are located throughout Europe and Africa. They are:
- Perianth Hotel: In the Greek capital of Athens, this hotel is designed in the neo-modernist style. It is situated in Agia Eirini, a Byzantine-era square near several attractions. This area features local artists who create contemporary Greek art and design.
- Istoria: In Santorini, Greece, this hotel, designed by the Athens-based Interior Design Laboratorium, is situated near black volcanic shores of the southern east coast.
- Vora: In Santorini, Greece, this hotel was designed by K-Studio which used Cycladic art principles to counter the rocky surroundings.
- Olea All Suite Hotel & Spa: This hotel is situated on the Zakynthos Island in Greece with over 90 luxury suites. It features a river-like structure within the property.
- Hotel Freigeist Göttingen: In Göttingen, Germany, this hotel is housed in the center of a new district. Design Hotels says it creates a focal point for students, artists and world travelers.
- Spedition: In Thun, Switzerland, this hotel was once a company that exchanged cheese, fur and leather. Designed by Design Stylt Trampoli AB, it is based on a patrician villa. The property is over 100 years old.
- Trademark Hotel: This property is near the Kenyan city of Nairobi and features public spaces and modern African design.
- Zuri Zanzibar: With more than 50 villas and bungalows, this hotel on the Tanzanian archipelago has a view to see the scenery of the island.
