Come this December, the Swiss village of Flims will welcome a new Alpine retreat, The Hide Hotel Flims, which will join Design Hotels' collection of over 300 independent properties in more than 60 countries around the world. The 47-room property will offer seasonal activities in the winter and summer, a restaurant, deli, spa, an outdoor terrace with views of the Swiss Alps, and a full kids center.
Inside, the hotel’s rooms and public areas have been conceived by Erik Nissen Johansen of the firm Stylt Trampoli AB. A living room lobby greets guests, outfitted with a fireplace, lounge, bar, and cozy nooks where staff can consult to create excursions. A mountain concierge is on-hand to facilitate any equipment rentals, activity planning, and to provide insider knowledge of the area.
For the young travelers, an approximately 21,000-square-foot ‘’Kindercity’’ offers chocolate and bread workshops, exhibitions, a dinosaur workshop, a robotics lab, a driving school, and professional childcare.
Outside, guests can explore roughly 150 miles of pistes in the winter, while summer offers the chance to explore with lakes and the “Swiss Grand Canyon.” At the Hide Hotel Flims, excursions like mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding are within reach. After an outdoor adventure, guests can enjoy a boutique cinema with four rooms, shopping experiences, and a 10,000-square-foot spa.
