The Aman name has long been synonymous with privacy, peace, and purposeful design. Its newest planned destination brings precisely that vision to the edge of the Saudi desert.
The brand’s highly anticipated resort and residence development in Wadi Safar, just outside Riyadh, now has a name: Amansamar. Scheduled to open as part of the wider Wadi Safar master plan near the UNESCO-listed Diriyah, Amansamar will blend Aman’s signature serenity with the storytelling spirit of the region, anchoring a cultural and luxury hub in one of Saudi Arabia’s most historic landscapes.
The name itself speaks volumes. “Aman,” the Sanskrit word for peace, joins with “Samar,” an Arabic term describing the evening ritual of sharing stories and wisdom around a fire. Consider this a poetic concept that feels deeply personal and reflective of place — and also a luxe sanctuary rooted in connection, resilience, and timeless luxury. It also translates to "the peaceful acacia tree," a fitting symbol woven into both the design ethos and the natural terrain of the site.

What to Expect at Amansamar
Designed by Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects, the 80-key Aman hotel will showcase the brand’s minimalist elegance, carved into a dramatic desert escarpment with sweeping views and a commitment to privacy. Expect calming architecture, natural materials, and an unspoken reverence for the landscape.
Amansamar will also be home to the first Aman-branded residences in Saudi Arabia, offering a limited collection of five- to six-bedroom villas and private estates. Set across cliffside and desert plots starting at nearly 97,000 square feet, these homes promise panoramic views, indoor-outdoor living, and access to Aman’s ultra-luxury service model. For high-net-worth clients eyeing Saudi Arabia’s emerging leisure and investment scene, this is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly exclusive.
Owners will also enjoy proximity to Wadi Safar’s Greg Norman-designed golf course, polo and equestrian centers, and world-class outdoor experiences. The larger Wadi Safar community is shaping up to be a destination for cultural immersion, nature-based pursuits, and design-forward hospitality.

Amenities and Club Privileges
In true Aman fashion, the on-site amenities will feel more like a private retreat than a resort. An Aman Spa will include signature hammam and banya houses, hydrotherapy areas, and wellness spaces designed for restoration. Additional highlights include dining venues, a Racquet Club, multiple pools, and a Kids’ Club.
For residence owners, perks go even deeper. They'll gain exclusive access to a private Residence Club, as well as membership in the global Aman Club with additional locations in Tokyo, New York, Bangkok, and upcoming destinations like Beverly Hills and Miami Beach. Programming will offer curated experiences and rare access to select Aman spaces around the world.
Aman’s Regional Growth
Amansamar is the latest in a growing lineup of Aman Group developments across the Middle East, a region the brand — and the broader ultra-luxury ecosystem — is clearly betting big on. Nearby openings include Aman AlUla and Janu Diriyah, as well as projects in Dubai under both the Aman and Janu flags. In a more seafaring twist, Amangati, the brand’s 600-foot superyacht developed with Cruise Saudi, is set to launch Mediterranean voyages in 2027.
