A new eco-friendly hotel has just arrived on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The KanXuk Blue Maya Resort sits on the Caribbean coast, a “perfect hideaway” for travelers seeking privacy in a peaceful, tropical setting.
This resort has some of the latest technology, including remote-controlled air conditioning in each villa room and bungalow, a wall-mounted high-definition television with 150 satellite channels, and complimentary Wi-Fi across the entire property.
Situated on the border of the San Juan Lagoon, there are four main villa rooms with ocean views, one main villa room with a jungle view, three ocean front bungalows and one premium bungalow with a private garden and dipping pool.
Committed to eco-efficiency, the resort utilizes 48 rooftop solar panels, a wind turbine providing most of the resort’s energy, a plumbing recovery system, bio-digesters that clean and recycle water before returning it back to the ecosystem, a natural underground cistern that provides the resort’s water, which is filtered to the highest purification standards for safe drinking and bathing, as well as indigenous materials from the property that were used to build the resort structures.
The resort also offers guests complimentary transportation to and from the airport by town car, boat or helicopter which are all available upon request, an on-site cigar bar, an on-site spa that offers natural body and facial treatments and massage therapies, a complimentary concierge service to book excursions, tours and private guides to the surrounding ancient Mayas and other areas such as the Cenotes, as well as all-inclusive customizable fine dining that incorporates fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs and spices grown from the chef’s nursery paired with suggested wines or other premium liquors from across the globe.
