Just in time for the winter season, a new hotel with ski-in/ski-out access will open in Courchevel. The glitzy ski resort of Courchevel is part of Les Trois Vallées (Three Valleys), the world’s largest ski domain, comprising eight resorts (including Méribel and Val Thorens) linked via a comprehensive network of ski lifts.
Opening its doors on December 20, 2019, Ecrin Blanc will be located in Courchevel 1650 within walking distance of the lift to Courchevel 1850. Targeting families, couples and also a business clientele, Ecrin Blanc was designed with wood and stone in the style of a traditional savoyard chalet. Interior designer Chantal Peyrat has sought to imbue the hotel with a warm, convivial vibe and mountain spirit. There are 127 rooms in a large range of categories that can accommodate from two to eight guests.
When it comes to food, Ecrin Blanc has come up with fun, unique offerings including a food truck in the “jardin des neiges,” also accessible from the ski slopes, and a bar-cum-concept store called Le Cellier where DJs will spin on the weekends. There will also be a grill restaurant and a second bar.
Planning a family vacation? Ecrin Blanc will have a dedicated children’s activity program to entertain kids aged four to 17 for their entire stay. Nice perk: The hotel is directly connected to Aquamotion—Courchevel’s giant aquatic playground—with private, underground access. Complete with a water park and spa, Aquamotion is the largest such aquatic center in the French Alps.
