Edition Hotels has announced the opening of its first property in the Middle East, The Abu Dhabi Edition. Previews began October 24 and the hotel will officially open to the public on November 21.
Situated on the waterfront of the Al Bateen peninsula in downtown Abu Dhabi, The Abu Dhabi Edition provides quick access to main sites of the city. In 20 minutes, guests can reach The Louvre Abu Dhabi or the beaches of Saadiyat. In 35 minutes, they can see Yas Island, with scenic views of the Arabian Gulf and the nearby marina.
The hotel also offers a wide variety of food and beverage options. Two of these, Alba Terrace and Oak Room, are overseen by Tom Aikens, the youngest chef to receive two Michelin stars. Alba Terrace, a coastal Mediterranean-style restaurant, serves locally sourced coffee, light lunches and sharing plates and the new-age steak house Oak Room offers traditional English food.
Elsewhere on the property, guests can dine at the health-focused Market at Edition, a gin-led cocktail spot called the Library Bar and a rooftop garden bar.
The Abu Dhabi Edition includes 198 guestrooms and suites, as well as 57 residences. The best sights at the hotel are from its two penthouses, the Marina Penthouse and the Royal Penthouse, both of which offer panoramic views of the water.
