Calling all tennis fans. The French Open tennis tournament—also known as Roland-Garros as it takes place at the Stade Roland-Garros in Paris—is a not-to-miss event on the sporting calendar. Staged over a two-week period in May and June, the French Open is the world’s top clay court tennis championship—and it makes for a thrilling experience for spectators, as the court stadiums are intimate in size. Sacred traditions for ticket-holders include indulging in magnificent lunchtime feasts, donning the signature Panama hats, and then—bien sûr—there’s the champagne.
This year’s tournament—with Roger Federer recently stating that he’s not playing any ATP tour events before the French Open—promises to be one to remember.
Get in on the action with a special package offered by Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, which made a splash in the French capital when it reopened in 2010 after a massive renovation by designer Philippe Starck. The palace hotel will arrange French Open tickets (the Philippe Chatrier main court in a 1st category seat), a gastronomic lunch at La Divine restaurant under the Suzanne Lenglen court, tea time at the partner’s village within the VIP area, plus transfers between the hotel in the 8th arrondissement and the Roland-Garros. The offer, which includes overnight accommodations, buffet breakfast and dinner at Matsuhisa, is valid from May 27-June 11, 2017.
In other news for Le Royal Monceau, the palace hotel will be welcoming celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa back to Paris for exclusive sushi classes, limited to only eight participants, in May. The three-day event celebrates the one-year anniversary of the hotel’s Matsuhisa restaurant.
