Austin, Texas is getting a new luxury addition. And a big one at that. Set to become the city’s largest hotel when it debuts in early 2018, the Fairmont Austin will occupy a striking 37-story tower in the Central Business District. There will be a whopping 1,048 guest rooms with views over Lady Bird Lake and the State Capitol. That’s not all. The meeting space will comprise 140,000 square feet and the luxury spa will have nine treatment rooms, a yoga studio, and top-notch fitness center. Price tag for the project? A rumored $370 million.
A highlight will be the 7th floor pool (heated seasonally) and entertainment deck dotted with 14 VIP cabanas. As reported in a recent article in the Austin American Statesman, the hotel will have “an elevated walkway offering direct access to the Austin Convention Center across the street.”
Another stand-out will be the food. There’s already been some buzz about the five F&B outlets which will open onsite. Zagat listed the restaurants as some of the most anticipated openings of Fall 2017—back when the hotel was on schedule to open in the autumn. The Fulton Bar on the lobby level will offer nightly live music and shared plates to pair with your libations, while Garrison, a modern grill house will serve up “globally informed, fire-kissed dishes like fermented carrot 'embers,' carrot top-green garlic pesto, dill yogurt and agua dulce ogo dust along with a Niman Ranch grilled ham chop with cassoulet, sorghum caramel, charred cabbages and Asian pear.” And Revue—complete with four different open kitchens showcasing diverse global cuisines—also got a Zagat shout-out.
Online reservations are now open.
