Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel Unveils New Suite Category

The Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos of Ecuador has renovated its guestrooms and introduced a new category of accommodation, with six Evolution Suites set to debut in March 2025.

Nestled in the property’s garden, a leisurely boardwalk stroll from the main hotel, Finch Bay’s Evolution Suites are designed for comfort and provide guests with extra space. Three suites on the second floor face the ocean and beach, while three suites on the ground floor overlook the greenery across the property. All six suites draw 40 percent of their energy from solar panels, like the rest of the hotel.

The six new Evolution Suites range from 177 to 185 square feet, and come with wooden chairs, a chaise lounge, colorful throw pillows, sleek tables and standing wooden shelving. Guests have a choice of a king or two double beds.  The bathrooms have broad-tile flooring, a marble counter with a double sink and a long rectangular mirror recessed into the wall. A deep soaking tub waits before a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall window with vertical blinds for privacy, and a separate shower is hidden behind tinted glass. Each Evolution Suite has a balcony of 52 to 76 square feet and decked out with comfortable furnishings.

Interconnected yet private balconies were similarly added to the hotel’s second-floor Premium Rooms, which were also given a complete makeover by Ecuadorian interior designer, Julio Vinueza.

The Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel makes the perfect base for exploring Santa Cruz Island, home to the archipelago’s giant tortoises. Accompanied by expert English-speaking guides, guests can explore uninhabited, wildlife-rich islands inside the Galapagos National Park aboard the hotel’s own Sea Lion Yacht, accommodating just 20 guests.

The hotel’s signature restaurant employs 40 percent local produce as well as ingredients grown on the property. Wellness offerings include a spa with two massage rooms, hot tubs, gym and a yoga shala with ocean views.
