Baglioni Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Baglioni Masseria Muzza located in Puglia, southern Italy. The property marks the brand’s sixth destination in the country.
The heart of the newly transformed Masseria is an ancient whitewashed building, dating to the 17th century, renovated and operated by Baglioni Hotels & Resorts. The 40 guestrooms and suites are dotted around the central courtyard in former stables and barns, with high vaulted ceilings and original stone features. Guests can choose rooms with balconies and verandas overlooking the Alimini Lakes or those with sunset views over the Mediterranean gardens and Adriatic beyond.
Baglioni Masseria Muzza is home to three restaurants: Le Site, where guests can relish gourmet dinners; La Limonaia Restaurant, which serves authentic Salentine dishes; and the Mirto Restaurant, serving Pugliese cuisine for breakfast and lunch, with outdoor dining and an infinity pool with lakeside views.
The hotel also has a spa complete with a steam bath, covered pool, Finnish sauna, ice fountain, relaxation zone, sensory showers and four treatment rooms, besides a fitness center.
Baglioni Masseria Muzza sits between Baia dei Turchi beach and Alimini Piccolo Lake. The UNESCO heritage city of Otranto, perched at the edge of Italy’s heel, is just 10 minutes away from the hotel. Guests can visit the medieval castle and Romanesque cathedral, besides the numerous craft shops and waterside restaurants. Baia dei Turchi is one of Salento’s finest beaches, protected by the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano).
The private estate and surrounding countryside are ideal for yoga, jogging and hikes, as well as mountain biking and horse riding. Golfers can enjoy a round or two at the nearby Acaya Golf Club. For watersports enthusiasts, the Salento coast from Otranto to Santa Cesarea Terme offers diving, snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, kite-surfing and fishing options.
