On the heels of hosting Prince Harry and company, the luxurious Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Montego Bay, Jamaica is looking to get more VIPs to take over the 110-acre resort for celebration travel.
Whether the occasion is a destination wedding like the one Prince Harry attended, a milestone birthday, a graduation, a celebratory anniversary, a retirement or reunion, Round Hill aims to meet every need for guests in a full resort takeover.
In the past five years, Round Hill has hosted five full resort takeovers for CEOs, dignitaries, celebrities and more. Perhaps the most notable resort takeover happened about a week ago as we told you in our sister publication, Travel Agent. Prince Harry and his girlfriend, actress Meghan Markle, stayed at Round Hill as they were attending a friend’s wedding. The new couple attended the wedding of Harry’s best friend and "wingman," Tom "Skippy" Inskip. Inskip and bride, Lara Hughes-Young, took over the resort, according to the Daily Mail.
Because the royals don’t use private planes for personal engagements, Prince Harry took a Virgin Atlantic flight from Gatwick to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, according to Mirror. The prince did shell out on a premium economy seat though, costing upwards of $2,451 for a return, according to the Mirror report.
The hotel includes 36 Ralph Lauren-designed oceanfront guest rooms and 27 private, luxury Jamaica villas. Located in the Pineapple House, the hotel’s guest rooms overlook Round Hill Bay and are steps away from the infinity pool and offer front-row access to sunsets.
These designer rooms feature plantation-shuttered windows or balconies, white linen-adorned four-poster beds, sitting areas and bathrooms offering walk-in showers, soaking tubs and dual vanities.
The starting costs for a full resort takeover for three nights begin at $320,000 with optional add-ons that the resort can coordinate for the group, including bespoke spa packages, chartered yachts, Olympic-style family competitions, off-property excursions such as horseback riding, swimming in private waterfalls, ATV tours, or even setting private reservations at some of the trendiest restaurants on the island.
For accommodations, guests can choose between four villa options – from two to six bedrooms – each villa has its own dedicated staff including a housekeeper, cook and gardener, allowing guests to unwind with loved ones while the villa staff takes care of their needs, making it the ideal option for large families or a group of friends.
For daytime activities, Round Hill offers multiple options of water-sports activities that everyone can enjoy – ranging from low-keyed to action packed. Natural coral reefs and exotic tropical fish can be viewed onboard the resort’s own glass bottom boat or via a complimentary snorkeling session. Water skiing and wakeboarding are also options for the natural athletes of the group. Less active members can enjoy sunning themselves on the beach, or reclining under a beachside umbrella, while being catered to by the property’s dedicated staff.
Round Hill offers modern amenities such as a newly built fitness center/gym and an outdoor yoga pavilion. Group sessions are also offered at the open-air yoga studio with views of the ocean.
