Forbes Travel Guide has hired Richard Lebowitz as the senior vice president of travel industry outreach. In his new role, Lebowitz will build awareness of the agency’s Star Rated hotels across the global luxury travel advisor community.
Lebowitz is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the travel and hospitality sector. Prior to joining Forbes Travel Guide, he spent almost 25 years with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in various leadership positions, including a previous role as regional vice president of luxury, lifestyle and leisure of North America for the global sales office.
Later, he served as senior vice president, hotel and resort program at Signature Travel Network, a member-owned travel agency cooperative serving over 7,000 travel advisors, and 1,000 hotel and resort global partners. Most recently, Lebowitz served as vice president of strategic partnerships at Sharecare and rolled out the “VERIFIED” health security program to the hotel and travel industry.
Lebowitz said in a statement provided to Luxury Travel Advisor, “I am so proud to be representing Forbes Travel Guide, which is the only global, independent ratings agency focused exclusively on luxury hospitality. Our prestigious annual Star Ratings are based on exacting, in-person inspections. Forbes Travel Guide’s rating system is a unique and highly reliable guide for discerning travel advisors and their clients—allowing them to book with confidence knowing that, regardless of brand, the rating will guide them to a property committed to service and guest-experience excellence. Travel Industry Outreach is new and under the leadership of Forbes Travel Guide’s CEO, Hermann Elger.”
Lebowitz will be directly reporting to Elger.
