Four Seasons Goes Big on Wellness

Just in: Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has new wellness rooms on its fourth floor, right near its spa. New touches include hardwood floors, Peloton stationary bikes, Alo Yoga mats, an air purifiers, healthy snacks in the minibar, natural toiletries and a dechlorinating shower head. In total, there are five wellness-themed rooms and two suites available.

We say this is just the beginning of something big. The hotel’s general manager, Michael Newcombe, says he hopes to expand the wellness rooms beyond just the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. As the head of the global spa and wellness task force team for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Newcombe also tells us he has his sights set on making wellness one of the major pillars of the Four Seasons brand, expanding beyond the guestrooms and spa.

At the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, the wellness rooms have circadian lighting, which means guests can customize their room vibe if they’re exercising, getting ready for bed or just hanging out in the room. For instance, the “Energizing” option has a bright, white light with a strong blue component that suppresses melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep. The “Relax” setting creates long wavelength night lighting with an amber tone, that lets you wind down for sleep; and the “Play” setting cycles between a range of colorful hues. Sweet.

Guided meditation, sleep, stress and nutrition programs are also on tap, as well menu options approved by the Cleveland Clinic.

What We Love: Wellness Room stays include an 80-minute massage for the price of a 50-minute treatment. New spa treatments include the Surrender Massage and JetSet Refresh Facial, which uses three masks to “supercharge” the skin post-flight. Organic facials and BioMeditation energy treatments are also an option.
