If the architects and designers have done their job, you will feel like you’re walking through one of Mexico’s Pueblos Magicos; instead, you will be entering Four Seasons’ newest resort in the country.
Originally scheduled to open this fall, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol—located in the private community of Cabo Del Sol, along the “Golden Corridor” between Cabo San Lucas to San José del Cabo—is eyeing an opening date early next year. Marking the brand’s second resort in Cabo—following the 2019 debut of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas on the East Cape of the Baja Peninsula—the new property will have a “modern hacienda” appearance with a Mexico-meets-Mediterranean vibe, with 96 guestrooms and suites, plus 61 residences, villas and estates, all with views of the Sea of Cortez.
The resort, we’re told, will have a much more tropical feel than the typical desert chic theme found at most hotels in Los Cabos. Guests will also be able to avail themselves of three ocean-view pools (including a dedicated family, adults and spa pool), the Tierra Mar Spa and fitness center, three restaurants and five bars, a Kid’s Club, and a swimmable beach where guests can enjoy snorkeling, water sports and whale sightings — and that’s not even mentioning the golfing at the Tom Weiskopf-designed Cabo Del Sol Course.
On the dining side, expect two outposts from Richard Sandoval, whose cuisines include modern and coastal Mexican, Latin-Asian, Peruvian and Pan-Latin.
General Manager Richard Raab (richard.raab@fourseasons.com) is particularly excited about the resort’s artist-in-residence program, where a local artist will be creating works that will be auctioned off; proceeds will benefit local communities or engagements. Advisors may reach out to Director of Sales Rob James (rob.james@fourseasons.com) with inquiries.
