Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) have announced plans for Four Seasons Hotel Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. A 300-year-old site located just outside of Riyadh, Diriyah is considered the birthplace of the Kingdom and the capital of the first Saudi state. The area is home to At-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the valley and palm groves of Wadi Hanifa, and will soon include the Diriyah development—a project that pays homage to the history of Saudi Arabia. Located 15 minutes from the center of Riyadh, Diriyah will comprise 13 districts inclusive of residences, hospitality offerings, office space, retail, museums, cultural institutions and outdoor attractions. The development is a key driver of the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030.
Four Seasons Hotel Diriyah, Saudi Arabia will have 150 guestrooms and suites; meeting and event spaces; a wellness spa with seven treatment rooms and a fitness center; and two outdoor pools with private cabanas. The hotel will also offer four culinary outlets, including a poolside restaurant and sunset lounge.
The Diriyah development will become one of the Middle East’s most pedestrianized cities. It has been designed to honor the heritage of the area with traditional Najdi architectural design principles, including low-rise, compact and organic architecture, rooftop terraces, decorated doors and large courtyards.
The hotel will be adjacent to Diriyah’s culturally rooted district along the Wadi Hanifa escarpment, with views towards the west and At-Turaif. The property, which is being developed by Aedas and Elastik interior designers, will be a short drive from the existing Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Center.
