As part of the resort’s $100-plus million renovation, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai—located on the Big Island—has unveiled the new floorplans for its top three villas, Hawaii Loa Presidential Villa, Makaloa Villa and Ho`onanea Villa. With design helmed by San Francisco-based BAMO, each villa is being expanded to add a second level, indoor-outdoor living space and private plunge pools, among other design elements, (such as slate floors, hardwood trim and local art pieces).
The top accommodation at the resort, the four-bedroom, 5,500-square-foot Hawaii Loa Presidential Villa is set directly on the oceanfront with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and walk-out beach access. Enhancements include an expansive second level primary bedroom and bath with an adjacent open living space. For maximum privacy, this bedroom takes one entire end of the villa and has a walk-in closet and granite bathroom with an outdoor lava-rock shower. Two additional bedrooms provide space for other guests.
Named after a plant endemic to Hawaii, Makaloa Villa remains the resort’s most secluded villa accommodation. Yhis versatile villa, available in three to five bedrooms configurations, offers an oceanfront setting, seet among gardens at the edge of the Waiakauhi Pond. All bedrooms have walk-in closets and downstairs bathrooms offer outdoor lava-rock showers. Steps from the beach, the villa also has a private pool and spa, hammock and lawn area.
On the oceanfront location between the Seashell and Beach Tree crescents, Ho`onanea Villa also has direct access to the beach and a central location within the resort. This expansive 2,600-square-foot, one-, two- or three- bedroom villa has a second level open living space and sundeck with exterior stairs. The spacious living and dining area open to a furnished lanai spanning the entire frontage, including a private pool with a connecting private spa. The outdoor experience is complete with a large daybed overlooking the pool and a private firepit with seating.
Guests of Four Seasons Resort Hualalai’s Specialty Suites receive a host of elite services and amenities. Most notably, guests are paired with a dedicated suite concierge team member who manages every detail and personalization for their stay, from booking through the entirety of their time at the Resort.
Marking the resort’s largest renovation since its debut, the property-wide transformation contemporizes its aesthetic while holding onto Hualalai’s Hawaiian architecture and design. This includes the enhancement of all 249 guestrooms and suites; a new, elevated infinity pool and lounge deck at King’s Pond, Hualalai’s 1.8-million-gallon swimmable aquarium; the introduction of the Kumu Kai Marine Center, home to six on-staff Marine Biologists who lead a curriculum of marine life experiences; a new gourmet poolside menu from Executive Chef Richard Polhemus; a transformation of the Hualalai Golf Course, the first Jack Nicklaus Signature Course on the island; and the launch of the Hualalai Golf Hale, a 3,000 square-foot instruction, practice and entertainment facility.
