Come fall 2018, Brazil will get its very first Four Seasons Hotel and Residences. Situated next to the Pinheiros River, Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo at Nações Unidas will be housed in a 29-story tower that’s part of Parque da Cidade, the largest mixed-use complex now under development in the city. The San Francisco-based BAMO design firm is decorating the 254 guestrooms (including 42 suites) in a contemporary, residential style. In-house attractions will include a five-room spa, a fitness center and a heated indoor/outdoor pool surrounded by lush landscaping.
The hotel aims to become a hot spot for chic local Paulistanos with its F&B outlets: a signature restaurant serving northern Italian cuisine and a hip lobby bar inspired by the traditional Brazilian botequim (tavern)—a dramatic grand staircase will be a focal point of this vast open-plan space (making it easier to see and be seen!). With a focus on top-notch event spaces, including a ballroom and outdoor terraces, the Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo is also looking to host important business and social events in the city.
Keen to see more of Brazil? The hotel can arrange a day trip via helicopter to explore the northern coast or a quick jaunt by jet to Rio de Janeiro.
Swiss-born Michael Schmid, educated at the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne, is the hotel’s general manager. Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo at Nações Unidas joins a growing Central and South American portfolio for the upscale hotel brand; other properties currently exist in Bogota, Buenos Aires, and Costa Rica.
