The Seychelles International airport has reopened to private jet travel with pre-approval from the Ministry of Health. Note: Visitors and residents flying into the Seychelles will undergo a two-week quarantine at their destination. Fregate Island Private will also be accepting private jet travel, becoming the first luxury destination in the Seychelles to do so.
Fregate Island, it says, has always been COVID-19-free and intends to remain a safe environment by following the Seychelles Health Authority’s advice and recommendations. To that note, the private island will be operating at a limited capacity with a maximum of 28 guests; this includes the operation of eight villas, as well as Banyan Hill Estate.
The Fregate Island Private team has been further trained on the importance of handwashing and social distancing and are undergoing regular medical checks by the island’s resident nurse. Hand sanitizing dispensers are located in all guest and staff areas, and there is an increased frequency of the island’s cleaning schedule with regular cleaning of all areas, including common contact surfaces, such as door handles and tabletops. The island’s restaurants will maintain six feet between tables and guest-facing team members will wear personal protective equipment while they work. Additionally, the island’s nurse and separate health and safety officer have received additional training on how to protect the hotel and guests from COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Fregate Island Private also ensures private helicopter charters from the main island of Mahe, private in-villa dining, destination dining around the island rather than in the restaurant, one personal assistant per villa and the insurance of all activities private to guests. Additionally, Fregate Island Private offers island buyouts for guests who wish to have the hideaway to themselves.
