Colorado Springs’ luxury resort and private club Garden of the Gods is announcing its inclusion as a AAA Four-Diamond property. Located on top of a mesa, Garden of the Gods offers views of the Rocky Mountains, Pikes Peak and the National Natural Landmark, Garden of the Gods Park.
The resort has 56 guestrooms, 12 of which are suites, with patios, private balconies and in-room fireplaces. New cottages provide a residential experience, which could be used as one- to three-bedroom retreats. The cottages are each varying in size and amenities and offer in-suite and parlor fireplaces, five-piece bathrooms and outdoor patios.
People who stay at the resort can play a round of golf at its 27-hole championship Kissing Camels course; tennis on two outdoor and four indoor courts; an adults-only infinity pool ranked by USA Today as one of the top five best hotel pools in the country; an outdoor pools for families; dining offerings; and a Strata Integrated Wellness Spa, which is opening this fall.
Celebrities and public figures who stayed at this resort include Walt Disney, Gene Autry and John Wayne. Judy Mackey and Brenda Smith, who were longtime Garden of the Gods Club members, bought the resort in October 2013 to, according to the resort, revitalize the old-time grandeur of the property while providing a holistic wellness retreat for worldwide travelers.
Just over five percent of over 27,000 properties approved and inspected by AAA receive Four-Diamond status. AAA Diamond ratings for hotels demonstrate a mixture of the overall quality, range of facilities and level of services provided by the hotel.
