Oxford Capital Group and Oxford Hotels & Resorts announced new details about its upcoming 220-room luxury lifestyle hotel, The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood. Expected to open spring 2019, the property will include Oxford’s second About Last Knife steakhouse location, a rooftop bar and pool area, a central courtyard and more.
Work on the building began in 2017, with demolition of the previous building in September 2017 and the completion of excavation in November 2017. The concrete foundation and podium were completed in May 2018 and the steel structure finished with building’s topping off in July 2018. Oxford expects to finish the building envelope in January so that it can open the hotel spring 2019.
Guestrooms will provide either king or double queen beds, bathrooms with rain showers and, for second-floor courtyard rooms, a connecting private terrace. The property’s rooftop area, complete with downtown views, will include a pool and both indoor and outdoor bars. The central courtyard will include multiple seating areas and a wine bar.
The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood’s exteriors have been designed by Los Angeles-based Steinberg Hart and its interiors are designed by The Gettys Group of Chicago. Local artists will create smaller interactive art pieces that will be placed throughout the property, including oversized metallic sculptures and dichroic glass installations.
