Grace Bay Resorts has announced it reopened its reservations offices and have begun reaching out to guests whose stays were impacted by resort closures. With the cleanup going well, Grace Bay Club, as planned, will reopen on September 30; West Bay Club remains scheduled to reopen on October 1. From Grace Bay: "We continue to work tirelessly to restore each property to superior condition for our guests."
Hurricane Irma passed through the Turks & Caicos Islands, and Grace Bay Resorts reported that all of its staff and guests safely weathered the storm without injury. West Bay Club, Grace Bay Club and the Private Villa Collection homes fared well in the storm and initial assessments show them to be structurally intact. There is some flooding and damage throughout the islands, and we Grace Bay also reported that some members lost their homes. The Turks & Caicos Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies (DDME) is still completing a damage assessment, and more information will still be coming out in the next few days.
Grace Bay Resorts wrote on its website: "We will continue to provide updates on operations throughout Grace Bay Resorts and the islands overall as additional information becomes available. In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers remain with our neighbors who have already been impacted as well as those still in the path of the storm."
