Grand Resort Bad Ragaz’s completely renovated Grand Hotel Quellenhof has relaunched on July 1 after five months of construction and an investment of approximately $45.5 million. For more than a century, Grand Hotel Quellenhof has served as the flagship hotel within the resort.
The new design concept revolves around Bad Ragaz’s beginnings, when 36.5-degree thermal water was discovered in the Tamina gorge nearly 800 years ago. Three new thermal water fountains were installed to provide continuous flow of fresh thermal drinking water for guests to consume. Additionally, all the furniture, curtains and light fixtures inside the Quellenhof were redesigned.
Good to know: Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is considered a top spa destination. A thermal and medical spa is located within the hotel.
The Grand Hotel Quellenhof has created a new top suite for its guests—the King Suite. Additional selections include the Royal Suite (Grand Hotel Quellenhof), the Penthouse Suite and the Presidential Suite (both in the Spa Suites Tower), and the Imperial Suite (Palais).
Architect Claudio Carbone transformed the atmosphere of the Grand Hotel Quellenhof by lighting it up. In the lobby, a 53-foot chandelier presides over all four floors. It is adorned with 2,500 clear and blue spheres, resembling a flowing waterfall.
Two new restaurants are housed in Grand Hotel Quellenhof. Chef Sven Wassmer, the 32-year-old culinary director of the hotel, is diverging to a different culinary track by launching Memories and the restaurant, Verve by Sven. Memories was created to celebrate contemporary Alpine cuisine, while Verve by Sven focuses on health and lifestyle; in fact, the name itself derived from the French word verve, meaning both "energy" and "zest.”
