In July 2017, Hotel Powers (which originally opened in the 1920s) closed for a renovation. On December 8, it will reopen as Grand Powers Paris, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Everything — the guestrooms, dining venues, public spaces and even the roof — is being redone.
Located on the corner of Rue Pierre Charron and François-Ier, the hotel is set in the chic 8th Arrondissement, close to the Champs-Élysées.
Want the scoop on the Penthouse Suite? It’s got a living area and rooftop balcony “with stunning views of the Eiffel Tower.” Sweet. Junior Suites are another option, but be sure to ask for one with a private balcony. Tip: Grand Powers Paris will have several connecting rooms and suite options, which should work well for families and entourages.
Café 52 is being designed as a stylish lounge; the hotel will now provide 24-hour room service as it aligns with a new luxury clientele. The new spa, will have a private treatment room, a sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi and a fitness room.
Rooms are currently available for booking. Contact Severine Greault (s.greault@lesgrandshotelsparisiens.com; 011-330-147-238-851), regional director of sales and marketing.
It’s been a great year for new Paris hotels. Hotel Lutetia has reopened on the Left Bank as a refreshed grande dame. Hôtel de Berri, a Luxury Collection Hôtel, has just opened near Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Avenue Georges V and Avenue Montaigne, which puts it close to boutiques, art galleries and museums.
Meanwhile, La Compagnie, the airline that flies from Newark to Paris, reports that it is making itself family-friendly with new onboard children’s meals and welcome gifts.
