The Hari Gets IHG's Luxury Muscle Behind It

We're all about the power of pairing: Beyonce and Jay Z, Sonny and Cher, or — most recently — Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. But this week, it's all about how The Hari is teaming up with IHG Hotels & Resorts, bringing all three of these luxury hotels into IHG's Vignette Collection fold.

The 85-room Hari London in the affluent Belgravia neighborhood, and the 210-room Hari Hong Kong in Wan Chai will join Vignette Collection this year. Separately, the 324-room Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre which is currently undergoing a major transformation will become The Hari Singapore, joining the Vignette Collection in 2027.

IHG’s deal with The Hari’s Harilela Group marks Vignette’s debut in Singapore and gives it a bigger footprint, adding to its growing presence of over 80 open and pipeline hotels worldwide.

“This landmark agreement introduces Vignette Collection to one of the world’s most strategically important gateway cities and expands its presence in both London and Hong Kong,” said Rajit Sukumaran, senior vice president & managing director, East Asia & Pacific at IHG.

Meanwhile, The Hari will keep its understated luxury personality while getting to plug that identity into IHG’s distribution machine.

Harilela Group chair & CEO Aron Harilela stated: “We have a clear and ambitious vision for The Hari brand with plans to expand its footprint in major international destinations. Bringing our three The Hari Hotels into Vignette Collection provides a unified brand partnership opportunity and a powerful platform for growth, combining the hotel’s individuality with the scale, global reach and commercial strength of IHG.”

This team-up is yet another demonstrating the trend of independent hotels and global operators partnering as the former want scale, distribution, loyalty networks and commercial muscle of the majors while the latter seek both scale and individuality.
