The Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is now welcoming travelers in Belize’s Ambergris Caye. The property is Hilton’s first in Belize and one of the country’s first resorts from a global brand.
The resort has 205 cottage and villa-style rooms across a 60-acre waterfront site with 10 dining outlets, bay and beach clubs, and meeting and event spaces. Guests staying at Mahogany Bay have access to an array of amenities, including the Bay Club with a grand pool, bar and poolside treatments and the private white sand Beach Club, a short ride from the on-site marina.
At the center of the hotel’s social scene is the 22,000-square-foot Great House that includes a restaurant and bar, event space, and a multi-level covered wrap-around veranda. Plus, golf carts and electric and pedal bikes are available for guests to explore the hotel property; watersports like diving, snorkeling, fly fishing, and paddle boarding are also available.
The rooms are placed amongst groves of coconut palms and tropic foliage. Each of the buildings have incorporated local materials into the structure and the furniture selection as a way to cultivate a Caribbean atmosphere. Accommodations range from garden cottage, garden cottage with loft, lower and upper keeping suites and family cottages.
Guests can taste a wide variety of cuisines through the resort’s dining venues, including The Verandah, specializing in farm-to-table dishes; Hive, serving a menu of light and healthy globally-inspired bowls; JYOTO, serving sushi; Taco Shack, a spot for authentic Belizean tacos; Rum+Bean, serving coffee drinks in the morning and rum offerings in the evening and Mahogany Chocolates, which offers locally-sourced organic chocolate and private chocolate-making classes.
