Hôtel Balzac in Paris Opens Japanese-inspired Spa

The newly opened Hôtel Balzac in Paris has announced the opening of its Ikoi Spa.

Inspired by traditional Japanese techniques, the Ikoi Spa at Hôtel Balzac provides a range of treatments and massages on tables or tatami mats. The massages make use of green tea oil and bamboo shoots. Spa therapists combine Japanese techniques with French all-natural and cruelty-free products in the spa’s zen-like setting. Facilities include an indoor plunge pool, sauna and fitness room.

Some of the signature treatments offered at Ikoi Spa include:

  • Kobidô (60 minutes) – This facial massage stimulates blood circulation, firms the skin up and reveals a radiant complexion
  • Detox Ritual (2.5 hours) – This tailor-made ritual is designed to eliminate toxins and purify the body and mind, besides promoting deep relaxation
  • Bamboo treatment (60 minutes) – The rhythmic movements of bamboo improve circulation, release tension and promote relaxation

Owned by Olivier Bertrand and his family, Hôtel Balzac is housed in a building that sits on the site of the former residence of the 19th-century French novelist, Honoré de Balzac. A member of Relais & Châteaux, the 5-star Hôtel Balzac features 58 rooms and suites, some with views of the Eiffel Tower and open-air terraces; a glass-domed lobby lounge; a bar; and the three-Michelin star restaurant, Pierre Gagnaire.

Good to know: Hôtel Balzac’s special opening offer includes a 20 percent discount off the Best Flexible Rate; a room upgrade upon availability at check-in; and breakfast in the lounge or in-room daily. The offer is valid for stays between now and December 24, 2024 except special events.
