Hôtel De Berri Opens in Paris as Part of The Luxury Collection

The Luxury Collection announced the opening of Hôtel de Berri, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Paris. Owned by the Dokhan family, Hôtel de Berri aims to have an eclectic yet refined design. Styled by designer and artistic director Philippe Renaud, the hotel has 75 guestrooms, including 35 suites, as well as an Italian restaurant, Le Schiap, and cocktail bar, Le Bizazz.

Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, the property was a private mansion for luminaries, including Princess Mathilde and fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli; Hôtel de Berri draws inspiration from such trailblazers, including painters, designers and stylists from Coco Chanel to Salvador Dalí.

The tone is set on arrival with a dramatic entrance hall. From there, guests proceed to the Sculpture Room, populated by statues, busts and sculptures, some of which originate from the castings workshop at the Louvre. Moving to the guestrooms and suites, each has a marble bathroom with heated flooring, Skinjay aromatherapy showers, TOTO toilets and luxury Diptyque products. Throughout, the hotel showcases pieces of Parisian art by such artists as Giacometti, Jean-Michel Frank, Madeleine Castaing, Henri Samuel and David Hicks. The interiors also include references to fashion designers, including Jeanne Lanvin, Marie-Laure de Noailles, Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli.

Helmed by executive chef Michele Dalla Valle, Le Schiap, serves approachable Italian cuisine. Using seasonal ingredients, Le Schiap’s menu combines Italian flavors with French classicism. Hôtel de Berri’s Bar Bizazz offers a cocktail menu engineered by mixologist Christopher Gaglione.

Bonus: We love that the hotel preserved the 32,000-square-foot landscaped garden throughout the renovations.

Note: Major tourist sites in Paris have reopened after a violent protest on Saturday, the latest in a series of protests in France called the Yellow Vest Movement over increased taxes on fuel and economic inequality.
