Hyatt and Delta Air Lines announced a new, long-term strategic loyalty collaboration that will link the World of Hyatt and Delta SkyMiles programs, with initial benefits focused on elite members of both.
When the collaboration launches in the coming months, eligible elite members will be able to earn both World of Hyatt points and Delta miles on qualifying travel. Eligible World of Hyatt elite members will have the opportunity to earn points on qualifying Delta airfare purchases within qualifying fare classes, while Delta SkyMiles Medallion members will be eligible to earn miles on qualifying stays at participating Hyatt properties. The companies said dual earn has been one of the most requested loyalty benefits among their members.
Details on enrollment, eligibility, earning opportunities, and launch timing will be shared in the months ahead, and the companies said the program will also include exclusive benefits and experiences, many of which will be unveiled later this year.
"Exceptional travel extends far beyond a hotel stay – it's about creating memorable experiences throughout the full travel journey," said Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian in prepared remarks. "That's what will make our collaboration with Delta so exciting. We share a vision for delivering thoughtful, premium experiences that put our members first and create tremendous value wherever their travels take them. By bringing together two brands with a shared commitment to care and exceptional hospitality, we will make it easier for our members to enjoy a connected and rewarding experience, from takeoff to check out."
Delta CEO Ed Bastian framed the tie-up as an extension of the carrier's premium positioning.
"At Delta, premium has never been about just a seat – it's a standard of care that shows up throughout the journey," Bastian said. "Flying Delta creates experiences and opportunities that can't be found anywhere else. Hyatt shares that same premium approach to everything from travel and dining to entertainment and accommodations, and it's what makes them such a natural fit."
To promote the collaboration, the two brands highlighted a series of flight-and-hotel pairings built around new and flagship Delta routes, including the carrier's Los Angeles-to-Hong Kong service with Grand Hyatt Hong Kong; the new JFK-to-Malta route with Hyatt Centric Malta; Seattle-to-Rome service with the soon-to-open Thompson Rome; nonstop Detroit-to-Shanghai flights with Park Hyatt Shanghai; the nonstop Atlanta-to-Cancún route with Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen; new nonstop Denver-to-Nashville service with Grand Hyatt Nashville; and new Austin-to-Paris service with Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme.
Both CEOs are known for touting their respective companies as the premium leader in each of their travel sectors, so consider this one lofty loyalty pairing to watch in the months ahead.
