At the luxury travel trade show ILTM Cannes, Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced plans for seven new luxury hotels and resorts throughout Europe and the Middle East, in addition to 24 previously announced luxury hotels within Hyatt’s luxury portfolio globally that are slated to open by 2023. These hotels are expected to further bolster Hyatt’s portfolio of luxury brand offerings in key growth markets. The newly announced projects are grounded in premium, cultural and desirable destinations known for their cuisine, architecture, immersive cultures and history.
Magma Resort Santorini, part of The Unbound Collection of Hyatt brand, will be a 59-room property located among traditional vineyards and located on the lava-made slopes of Vourvoulos where guests will be able to enjoy the sunsets. The resort is expected to open in mid-2022. Also scheduled for a mid-2022 opening is the 7Pines Resort Sardinia, which will mark the second Destination by Hyatt hotel in Europe. The resort overlooks the archipelago of La Maddalena and is surrounded by untouched coastline and a nature reserve.
Thompson Madrid will mark the brand’s debut in Spain and reintroduction to Europe. Scheduled for a mid-2022 opening, the hotel will be located in the center of the new "Golden Mile" of Madrid, steps away from the city’s popular attractions. Striking design and spaces, including a rooftop terrace and pool, will make the hotel a cultural hub. The Andaz brand, also in 2022, is expected to debut in Qatar with the 318-room Andaz Doha, which will offer sea views and will be located in the West Bay area of the city.
Scheduled for a 2025 opening is Alila Lanzarote. Lanzarote is known for its diverse marine life, volcanic landscape and protected beaches. The hotel aims to provide bespoke journeys. The Grand Hyatt Lanzarote is also expected to open in 2025. It will be located in the premium tourist region on the island of Lanzarote and will provide stunning coastal views.
Park Hyatt Riyadh Diriyah Gate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be part of the Diriyah Gate Development overlooking Al-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over two-and-a-half square miles of Diriyah will be transformed into one of the world’s foremost historic tourism destinations offering guests a refined home-away-from home and new ways to experience the history of Saudi Arabia. The property is expected to open in 2025.
