In New York, the team from ROMEO Napoli (which debuted in 2014) met with media to introduce The ROMEO Collection. The new brand will be launching its second property (Rome) in October 2023, followed by its third hotel (Amalfi Coast) in 2024. Throughout all three hotels, guests will find a modern design approach, blending with the buildings’ historic roots. Even the art collections will span from ancient to contemporary.
Located in the “Eternal city’s” high-end shopping district, steps from the Piazza del Popolo, ROMEO Roma was one of the last projects worked on by famed architect Zaha Hadid. The 74-room historic palazzo dates back to the 1500s, when it served as the home of the Serroberti-Capponi family, and offers views of the rooftops and palazzos in the charming Campo Marzio neighborhood. Five of the suites house restored frescos in contrast to the contemporary architecture of Hadid.
ROMEO Roma will have a gourmet destination restaurant in partnership with Alain Ducasse, Il Ristorante (good to know: ROMEO Napoli is home to Il Comandante, owner of one Michelin star), as well as a Neapolitan-inspired bistro. There will also be an open-air courtyard, indoor and outdoor pools, rooftop lounges and bars, and ROMEO The Spa by Sisley Paris, collocated with a fitness center with Technogym equipment.
Further down the road, ROMEO Massa Lubrense — perched on the cliffside of the Amalfi Coast village, close to the collection’s flagship Naples property — brings a contemporary, luxury offering to the iconic destination. Like the hotels in Naples and Rome, the property will have no more than 80 rooms designed by Kengo Kuma. Stay tuned as the brand announces more throughout 2023.
