Jumeirah Group has announced the appointment of two new executives. While Gianluca Priori has been announced as the general manager of The Carlton Tower Jumeirah, the group’s flagship hotel located in London’s Knightsbridge, Cristina Sancenon is the new GM of Jumeirah Port Sóller Resort & Spa in Mallorca, Spain.
Priori’s remit will also include the neighboring Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, located near London’s royal Hyde Park and Harrods department store.
With over two decades of experience in luxury hospitality, Priori’s appointment follows a three-year tenure as general manager of Jumeirah Port Soller Resort & Spa in Mallorca, Spain. Joining Jumeirah Group at the height of the global pandemic, Priori cultivated a high performing team of hospitality professionals, culminating in a record year for the hotel in 2022 across all performance indicators.
The Carlton Tower Jumeirah in London was extensively renovated in 2021. A rarity for the capital, the property has a number of rooms and suites that have the benefit of a balcony, enabling guests to take full advantage of the views across London, as well as London’s largest naturally lit swimming pool.
Both The Carlton Tower Jumeirah and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel are overseen by Ermanno Zanini, regional vice president of Southern Europe and U.K. whose remit extends to Capri Palace Jumeirah in Italy and the panoramic cliffside retreat Jumeirah Port Soller Resort & Spa in Mallorca, Spain.
Priori has a longstanding career within Europe’s luxury hospitality sector, having held several leadership positions in the European cities of Paris and Milan for Hyatt Hotels and Four Seasons. In his new role as general manager of The Carlton Tower Jumeirah and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, he will steer a new expression for the brand and enhance its reputation as a globally recognised luxury hotel operator.
Sancenon, for her part, brings over 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality to her new role at Jumeirah Port Sóller Resort & Spa. Sancenon’s appointment follows her tenure as hotel manager at the group’s flagship hotel, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai, where she was an integral part of the executive team delivering impressive commercial results, and guest satisfaction scores. In her new role, Sancenon will oversee all aspects of the award-winning Mallorcan clifftop retreat, enhancing financial and operational performance, while sharing her passion for exceptional guest experiences.
Prior to joining Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, Cristina worked for luxury hotels across Europe including the Park Hyatt in Paris, Milan and Madrid.
